Rust Console Patch Notes 1.14: Big Fixes, Exploit Closures & Community Server Upgrades
Patch 1.14 is live for Rust Console Edition (released July 30). No headline monument this time; instead it is the "everything works better" patch: performance help for big bases, a long list of major bug fixes, quality-of-life improvements, and a set of community server changes that server owners have been waiting on. It also sets the stage for the Underground Trains update coming in late August (see Dev Blog #53).

Community Server Changes
This is the section that matters most if you run a server:
- Admins can now destroy trees via the Entity Details menu
- Kit Machine cooldowns can no longer be bypassed by leaving and rejoining the server
- Unread reports are now readable by admins when the inbox contains only one report
- Player-inputted text censoring has been adjusted
- Server names are now limited to 512 characters including HTML colour tags
- Long server names now scroll correctly in the Server List
Combined with the server name colour display fix arriving this wipe (confirmed in Dev Blog #53), coloured branding in the in-game list finally works the way owners intended.
What This Means for Players
This patch removes a pile of the frustrating stuff: connection refusals under load, the OSK death softlock, wall-clip raiding exploits, and the Cargo Ship culling bug. With a fresh monthly wipe live and Underground Trains landing late August, it is a great window to jump in. Find a fresh start on the Rust Console server list or check Just Wiped for servers that reset in the last 48 hours.
What This Means for Server Owners
- Re-check your in-game server name after the wipe: colours now display correctly, names cap at 512 characters, and long names scroll properly
- The Kit Machine cooldown fix closes a loophole your players may have been abusing
- Wipe-day traffic is coming with the Underground Trains hype. Make sure your listing is live with the RCE Bot connected so players see real player counts. List your server free or see paid placement
Bottom Line
1.14 is a stability-and-fairness patch: big exploit closures, smoother building, real improvements for community server admins, and a cleaner base game ahead of Underground Trains. Update, wipe, and get back on the island.
