Rust Console Patch Notes 1.13 — Caves, Radtown & Radioactive Water Are Here

June 25, 202662 views

Patch 1.13 is live for Rust Console Edition — and it's the one that delivers World 2.0 Part 2. Caves you can build inside, the Radtown monument, the brand-new Radioactive Water mechanic, reworked Water Wells with vendors, and a completely refreshed skin store — plus a long list of crash fixes and quality-of-life improvements.

Here's everything in the update, and what it means for your next wipe.

New: Caves

Procedurally generated natural caverns now spawn across maps, with unique base design opportunities — certain cave areas don't trigger building restrictions, so you can build inside them. Caves contain ore nodes and lootable minecarts, and come in three sizes with three difficulty levels (nine variants in total). Expect the best ones to be contested from day one of a fresh wipe.

New: Radtown

A small monument that can spawn in any biome. Radiation damage applies inside its buildings and near radioactive barrels, and it provides rations, low-tier loot, vehicle parts — and the new Radioactive Water. It's an early-game loot stop with real risk attached, so bring protection and watch for third parties.

New: Radioactive Water

Found only in puddles inside Radtown. Collect it and you can splash enemies with a Water Bucket to inflict radiation and poison damage. It's a genuinely new PvP (and griefing) tool — expect creative plays around it, especially against farm bases.

Reworked: Water Wells

Water Wells are now worth a detour: they feature vendors with rotating item selections (vendors respawn an hour after being killed), plus a Food Cache and planter boxes growing corn and pumpkins.

New Skin Store

The in-game store has been rebuilt with improved navigation, a "much, much larger variety of legacy skins", and direct Additional Content purchases. If you've been waiting for an old favourite skin to return, check the Legacy section.

What This Means for Players

Patch 1.13 landed alongside the monthly wipe, which makes this the best time in months to jump onto a fresh server: new caves to claim, Radtown to farm, and the connection/crash fixes make long sessions smoother. Browse the Rust Console server list to find a fresh server — or check Just Wiped for servers that reset in the last 48 hours.

What This Means for Server Owners

New-content patches always bring a wave of returning players hunting for a server. Make sure your listing is ready to catch them:

  • Announce your post-patch wipe so it shows in the Just Wiped feed
  • Connect the RCE Bot for live player counts — listings showing real numbers convert far better
  • Mention the new content (caves, Radtown) in your listing description — players are searching for it

List your server free or see paid placement options for the post-patch surge.

Bottom Line

1.13 is the payoff patch: World 2.0 Part 2's headline features are now actually in your hands, backed by a solid round of crash fixes. Grab your squad, pick a fresh server, and go claim a cave.
